The Book of Leviticus by Pastor Melissa Scott

Pastor Melissa Scott tells us that Genesis 22:2. I’m making you spin your pages. You all know the story, Abram who’s going to offer Isaac, verse 2 says “get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there,” Isaac, “for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.” That word, it’s English, I put it in English for you, olah. See. Yo habla español. Olah. It looks something like that, “burnt offering.” What you give and how you give it and the spirit in which you give it. I really think God is more concerned about the spirit in which you give than what you give. I’m going to prove that as we progress.

Now you don’t have to spin through these if you want, but I’m going to take us to Exodus 10. I want to make my point about something. The rest of these I’ll just cite to you afterwards.

Exodus 10:24 you have Pharaoh calling unto Moses and he said “Go ye, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed,” leave them here. You can take everything else, leave your animals here. “Let your little ones also go with you. Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice unto the LORD our God.” Again there are specific words being used for sacrifices.

And I’m going to probably end up teaching next week on these through the Book of Leviticus because I’m tired of people saying that it has nothing to do with our faith right now. “Well that’s the law.” Well listen to me, God gave the whole Bible. It wasn’t the Bible when He gave it but the whole thing was put together for us for instruction, to learn, to understand. And many things that we read in Leviticus, the book of Hebrews says were shadows and types.
